LBBC a simple site & Forum

the brief was a simple single page and a Members’ Forum.

No Menus; simply a clickable photo was chosen to navigate to the interactive Forum.

The Members’ Forum provides an interactive info exchange alternative to Facebook and email.
Only Members can post and access Club areas but there is a Guest visible area for Public Info, which can be updated as and when.

La Contenta our most recent responsive Website

website-screen-shot-2016-09-22

La Contenta is our most recent site — she’s so much more than a yacht! This is an example of a mobile/tablet responsive website, that shrinks down and stacks the Menus.

responsivecontentasitepic

It includes the capability for the owners to post Blogs and Latest News via Facebook and Twitter, even while they are at sea, although usually done when in Port — the Facebook & Twitter feeds are embedded in the Site, and only the Admin’s Posts can be seen; – no Replies can be seen within the Website itself, but they can of course be seen on the Facebook Page. It makes use of a special Facebook Company page we set up for them called La Contenta The Yacht

This Company Facebook Page provides the News for the Website; it is embedded without replies, and can be managed by the Owners on the go, at Sea and without having to mess with the Website, as the Company Facebook Page streams Live in the Website

Responsive website themes

Just been working on some responsive themes and example sites that may well suit websites needing a better mobile/tablet exposure. http://www.soul-trade.com/bookresponsivegallery/ has 5 or 6 new ideas/themes with screenshots of their mobile & desktop appearance together with links to the actual working demo sites.

(pull or pinch your Browser window from its bottom corner, to replicate a mobile or tablet and see how the themes respond)

Custom Solutions

We often prepare Custom Demos, based on our Shareware packages for small Business evaluation. We are happy to liaise and develop a solution tailored for your workflow needs.

eg we were recently approached to evolve a solution for an existing Agency Business that was currently running in Excel but was becoming cumbersome.

Using our existing Core Solutions, we upgraded the Calendars to allow for searching of available personnel for certain dates, this could be used for rooms, properties or almost anything. Although unlimited users and calendars are available, this Case, with an Agency base of say 20 available Calendars, allowed bookings to be made, removed, searched coloured or texted as necessary, and displayed as a pausing screen ( time is adjustable) for an overview if required.

All info is in one place and Accounts and routines can be implemented as required.

By adding an extra tabbed page to our existing Solution, we were able to provide 3 extra custom pages of checkbox and editable drop menu fields (>50) that allow the User to enter new Client information very quickly and then print to pdf the resulting ‘snapshot’ and custom invoice for attachment to email – all in one.

extracustompage

All is searchable by one or many fields so results are fast and can be seen in lists – these can be colour coded as required for future quick finds or action.

The Demo provided was for 50 records and 3 months trial and was free, and the expected cost for unlimited Registration above the standard core price of £68 was about £230-250 including 3 months support.

Extended Annual Support costs just £50. and as the case was local, we could do a site visit walk-through and training, with evolving edits and design discussions by phone and email. Time Taken — under 2 weeks

the solution was installed on Windows 8 but can be implemented on both Windows and Macs as well as iPads. Networking is available by upgrade.

Mobile Apps

We have just added some free Mobile Apps for many of our Client Sites

mobile apps

Though really just a link/b’mark, a prepared touch icon will appear on your iPad/ iPhone home screen page (you can always move it to another page if required later -( – hold till ‘wiggle’ then drag to page you require))

if you have iOS6 on your iPad or iPhone, in your browser 1/ go to the Site you wish to Bookmark, and click the central ‘add to bookmarks’ icon in the bottom Menu at 6 o’clock(see pics below), the central choice is ‘add to home screen’, edit text as required…

enjoy
(ps Android OS will use the standard bookmark (favicon) image from the site for your homescreen icon.) and if there is no prepared touch icon, IOS will simply screenshot the page as a small icon

Hiya

“Jol and I have been chatting about the website.

Few things to think about

Do you want a static information based website,  or an interactive one, where people, either anyone or/both a select few can post/admin , i.e. admin can add and change things?

Have a look at this website

http://www.soul-trade.com or Clients or Forums above.

This has a list and link to many of the sites Jol has worked on.

The scuda one (South Lakes Dyslexia) is the most recent and that style (different set pages that do not need much editing) has interactive Facebook page showing latest posts as latest news page; might suit L2C if you want an information based site.

The contact a family one is very detailed and probably cost a lot to produce(!) but we could do a basic edited setup like this one, where you can edit text, images, links layouts, menus and templates for £150 (as with all the paid options, we’d guide you through its workings, support; its setup, maintenance and security)

If you want a site to have the address e.g. soul-trade/learning2change Jol does not have to buy a separate domain name, so would cost something like £45pa where as if you wanted it to have its own domain e.g. www.learning2change he would need to buy the extra space, and you are looking at around £90 pa, although you can ‘point’ your own domain to a cheaper £40 year setup as the Scuda site does; its domain name e.g. www.scudauk.co.uk costs say £10 a year, and we point it at soul-trade/scuda  and so it costs only £45 a year to maintain & host. But if you want its own domain space and email on its own root site i.e./www.soul-trade.com and email etc then its £90

basically you could (own) have L2C.com or any available domain name, for say £10 a year, sited on either a £45pa or £90pa hosting plan, which we would maintain for you

A simple static website with comments & response capability can be also done using something like blogger for free, or we can set it up for you for £50, you maintain, or say an iWeb site  (like scuda above) which has a bit more to it. £120 we maintain, and £45 a year (£95 if it has its full hosted site, as explained above)

here are the basic options

L2 change prep/options

1/
basic (client editable) allows comments & response £50 all in (client maintains indefinitely) e.g. blogger

2/ this one (customisable)
more like a contact a family completely client editable, with ability to leave & respond to  comments £150 upwards; basic setup menu and pages ( the more design at the outset the more it costs) all in, then £45 a year  (£90 if own domain & email) incl backup

3/
set site (like SCUDA) with fixed menu pages & design not directly client editable, but occasional changes needed, we do through year)  and ability to add own news edit via interactive facebook page/group  as latest news .. £120 hosted then £45 a year (£90 if own domain & email) incl b’up

4/
fully interactive forum type that you can edit; like our learning to change forum www.soul-trade.com/change, but with a contact a family like front end; pages & menu (with or without own domain name)  £150 then £45 a year (£90 if own domain & email) incl b’up
